Figma

Collaborative UI/UX design platform with AI features (First Draft, Make), prototyping, and code inspection

Design & web

Overview

Figma is the leading collaborative design platform for UI/UX, wireframing, and high-fidelity prototyping. It features an infinite shared canvas with real-time collaboration, design systems (Design Systems), Dev Mode (component inspection directly into code), and native AI features: First Draft (AI wireframe generation), Make (design generation from prompts). The Starter plan is free with 150 AI credits per day (500 max/month), unlimited drafts access, templates, and UI kits; Professional costs $16/month (full seat) or $12/month (dev seat) with 3,000 AI credits/month; Organization/Enterprise offer advanced collaboration tools and team management.

Figma added support for French in its interface (launched October 2025), covering UI, menus, onboarding, and customer support with local format handling. A documented REST API enables integration in CI/CD or with other tools; authentication uses OAuth 2.0 or personal tokens. The tool natively integrates with Slack (notifications, FigJam), Jira (live embeds), Notion, Linear, and via Zapier to 500+ apps. Figma is highly valued for real-time collaboration and a gentle learning curve, but performance can suffer on very large files (multiple design systems). Per-seat cost (Professional) remains a constraint for small teams.

Our verdict

Best for SMEs, design studios, and product teams seeking the reference collaborative tool with AI and code inspection for developers. Avoid if per-seat budget is tight or if you have only one designer: Figma is not the most economical for solopreneurs.
